First Part of the Script on its way to The Bridge of the forum.

First part of the script is now posted in the 4Father section (no you can't see that part of the forum) and will now be debated for a few days before posted in the Ready Room, and the Actors Thread. It is important never to refer to the script in any way what so ever.

A peek at the beginning of the script (will be removed in february)! :) The rest will NOT be published outside "The Bridge"!

Black Bakground

Text: "Ares, Mars - 2887"

Sound of a fly buzzing fading in

Fade from black - Open to camera behind fly in mid air

Fly landing on a flower which turns to strange animal snapping after the fly
Fly escapes.

The fly lands on the wall, rests for a few seconds and continues to a window frame underneath an open window.

Suddenly a hand captures the fly on the frame (music stops)

Girl: Got'ya!

The camera zooms out to show the entire window, with a plant in a flower pot. A girl between 10 - 14 years grips the fly with a pair of tweezers and holds it over the one big flower on the plant-

Girl: "Wakey, wakey! Breakfast is ready!

A mouth full of teeth is slowly coming out of the flower, and suddenly another smaller mouth within the mouth grabs the fly and half the tweezers (ref. to aliens)

Girl: Fluffy! That's the second pair of tweezers this week. That's it! You're out of here!

The girl lifts the pot with her left hand and pulls the plant up by its roots with the right.

A large shadow rises before her. A giant model of the same plant sneers at her from outside the window - leaning in over the window frame. Several mouths of different sizes come out towards her very slowly - drooling heavily on the floor. She puts the plant back in the pot and pets it carefully with three small movements of her hand.

Girl: Nice little plant!

She looks above the plant and discover two Holoemitters in each upper corner of the window frame.

Girl: Computer, end program!

The plant shrinks to a small boy hanging over the lower window frame.

Boy: Hi, sis! Ma says bring your PADD, we're late for school!"

He let go of the frame just in time to duck the smaller plant (with pot) zooming over his head, and down to the ground outside. Running around the corner of the building while the girl shouts at him.

Girl: "I hate you, you little troll!"

She grabs her PADD, the door swish aside and she leaves the room in a hurry.

Downstairs the boy enters through the front door and places himself on the transporter pad. His sister is running up beside him. The father is eating his breakfast at the table, and her mother is folding clothes.

Girl: Computer…

Mother: Wait! Your PADD! (She turns around and reaches for the PADD on the table where her husband is eating. He hands it to her without even looking her way - busy reading his own PADD)

The Girl smack her brother in the back of his head while their mother has her back turned.

Boy: MUM!

Father: Will you stop it you two.

The boy's making faces at her sister with his tongue out.

Mother: Enough! Here! (she gives the boy his PADD)

Girl: Computer! Transport!

The two disappears in two rising rings around them (new transporter effect).

The mother picks up the little boy's sweater and folds it by pinching it to her chest with her chin and using her arms to fold, and at the same time she gives the replicator a command.

Mother: Computer! Feline Supplement 14!

The replicator produces a bowl with cat food, while the mother put the sweater in the heap of folded clothes. She then grabs the bowl and rush out the front door.

Mother: Hi Sweetie! Where have you been the last few days? Huh? Are you hungry, Sweetie? Sweetie?

The cat hisses at her.

Mother: What's wrong?

The cat's looking over her shoulder, turns and run away, as a flickering of blue light is slowly filling the surroundings. Camera zooming out as she turns and spot what is hovering over the planet (not shown by the camera). She's backing toward the entrance.

Mother: Jerry……JERRY!!!!!

She turns around and rushes into the building.

Camera continues to zoom out to an overview of the neighbourhood, the country, the planet, and finally a distance from the planet where one can see the Nexus over the planet.

Go to black!

The Gatekeeper aim to fill all the gaps of the Star Trek series trekkers in general has been debating. Where's the toilets gone, and what do they look like? Why do ships always meet the same side up? Q claims that El-Aurians like Guinan is a very dangerous species - so what can they do? Why do the space ships make so much sound in space?

The 4Fathers ask for help finding more questions to be answered! You may post them in the Ten Forward Section, under "Script"! :)

The Next part of the script was to be posted Sunday this week, but will have to be posted next week instead due to work, visitors, reinstallation and lectures. I do believe it's worth the wait though, and you will have another exiting posting this Monday:

2. Two more actors for the work station crew.

4Fathers are debating the Gatekeeper Main Theme as we speak, and if all agree, we will buy the right to use it. This means that we might deside to use a profesjonal production instead. The question is how big the fee will be in the cease of a nonprofit project like ours. We'll have to wait and see. But first we need to debate it! Werther we publish it, or wait until the vignette teaser we're not sure of!

All concept arts that has not found an artist yet, will be created by me within the end of September, and given to the CGI/Props master.

There are still an artist that has not been asked though, and naturally this is only for the first two parts of the movie. The experts from around the world will do several of the hardest task from next summer, and there will be plenty of exciting tasks for everyone.

The first costume for Captain Janeway will be created from next week and forth, followed by one Gatekeeper member and one Station Officer at a time. A sheet were you fill in your messurements will therefor be posted on this forum for you to download, fill in, and mail me.

There will be a make-up meeting on MSN shortly with our 3 artists. We'll find a date that fits us all.

The rest of the debate of about the arts will be done on the forum. So do read the list of what needs to be done, and tell me what task you want. This is for our artists only.

Gatekeeper station AND web page interface redesigned!

4Fathers have decided to keep the very trade mark of the two giants meeting in the movie Gatekeeper as its best known among the fans; Star Trek - with its clean hyper futuristic designs, and Star Wars with its dark and rough designs. The brown and rough design of the Gatekeeper is therefore out!

The design will not yet be presented, as the 4Fathers are currently puzzling all the pieces together to create a well worth membership for its fans.

News Flash:
C3PO and R2D2 have arrived!

The two robots have already made their appearance in the script posted on the forum. They were originally planned to be created in CGI, until Nordic Garrison got involved. Nordic Garrison is the Scandinavian section of the 501st Garrison, consisting of Star Wars fans and costume enthusiasts in particular.

The group is a very active and idealistic one, often seen as large groups of Star Wars characters at Sci-Fi Cons all over the world. In Sweden they are best known from their appearances at the Scandinavian Sci-Fi, Game & Film Conventions, and in Norway at the Oslo Sci-Fi Festival (and from September the Scandinavian Sci-Fi, Game & Film Convention will also be held in Norway).

4Fathers decided from the start to include this group in the production, and was early on in contact. This Wednesday we felt ready to start cooperation by informing the group, and was in contact with one of the Norwegian spokesmen; John-Catho Kristiansen. We will also be in contact with the spokesmen for the other Scandinavian countries shortly.

Kristiansen will also be included amongst the script writers to ensure that the Star Wars part is absolute CANON, and that we get to explore aspects of the Star Wars universe we still have'nt. He also suggested we use the robots/costumes of our two friends C3PO and R2D2 - instead of wasting valuable time doing them in CGI.

Script Rewrite & Story Board.

As 4Fathers have said before; the script posted at the forum is only a quick first draft. We are currently rewriting the former posts while adding new first drafts, and the quality is rising every day.

The rewrite has been far more substantial than we first thought, without changing the story in any way. Most of the changes came with the story board, with both pushing each other forward with new exciting ideas and details.

The script will finish this year and all actors will have their audio CDs (with all your lines) before January 2009.

Fallen Redshirt!

Contec (at props) will not be joining the production as he simply hasn't got enough time, and so the props production is moved to Stockholm.

Chances are that Nordic Garrison will help out with props, as they are one of the most experienced costume/props makers there is. Naturally Contec will be missed and he's welcome back at any time.

As for people falling off the production - this is something we have to take into account; and so we have. This is a problem for all larger events, and in this case we have three years worth of production time. So there will be people dropping off as we go - for good reasons (like Contec) and for losing interest. Especially in Scandinavia I'm sorry to say.

4Fathers do have a backup plan for ALL characters and production personnel - but we do hope those of you that CAN - stay put until we're finished. It WILL be worth it, and something tells me that those of you that pull back from lack of interest will regret it in the end. ;) So far remarkable few have pulled back for such a large project!

Take a good look at the next three years. If you know you are moving to China or you're not sure you want to join us for that long, please say so as soon as possible. ;) hehe But as I said; If you can't - you can't! Family, work and school first. Always! Which is why we're not as strict with the deadlines? This is to be fun!

What used to be news articles on the front page will in the future be a static presentation page on the movie and the web community. The news articles will instead be posted at the forum, and in the News PADDs - with illustrations and all when available (as seen above).

You may comment on these articles by using the link at the bottom, which will take you to the thread underneath, with the theme closest to the article.

Naturally Martin will be continue working for 4Fathers, so there will be no changes here. How fast we develope the station though, will be decided from how much time he has left after school! :) The movie part rest heavier on Thomas Dahl and Barbara Adams.

New Star Wars Actor for Gatekeeper.

4Fathers have decided to find another Star Wars actor than the one we have talked to so far - for reasons we cannot reveal. We do have many to choose from but will not post any names until we have our contracts signed.

As we sign contracts no earlier than one year before shooting, Mark Allen Shepherd (Morn from DS9) is the only one written into the script as of yet. But there will be several others as we go.

Mark will naturally do a different role than he did for Deep Space Nine. He'll do the part as head of the Jedi council.

4Father Barbara Adams under attack!

Our 4Father Barbara Adams found herself in the middle of the storm Ike, but came out of it ok. Winds at 200 k/h are enough to blast away any window, but the storm had lost a bit of its power before reaching Little Rock, Adam sais:

Well, Ike passed overnight, and I spent the night in the living room since my bedroom window faces into the winds that were blowing pretty fierce. I don't know what the highest gusts may have been. My electricity went out 0:12 which was after the Tornado watch ended. No major damage, one tree came down by the street, which the city was cutting up and clearing away at 05:20 this morning.
My electricity came back on just before 12:00 and I've been putting the battery lights away and resetting all the electric appliance clocks and calendars, AGAIN!

Adams didn't waste her time during the storm, but spent it creating the ranks for our two Gatekeeper teams.

To Redesign & Not! That is the Question!

The more we redesign the station pages - the more we like the former design. Chances are that we'll end up keeping it as is - but in other colours. The station itself though, will undergo some really exciting redesigning! ;)

As for the Portal Page we have now created a static page for information about all our projects, and will be posting this as soon Martin has the time. As you know he is in the middle of moving to England to study.

This means that all news articles in the future will be posted at the forum only, while the portal will be a presentation page. This is a natural development now that the projects are getting more busy than ever.

The web pages need to be as easy to update as possible. The Station Pages will after all be the real Gatekeeper page, while the Portal Page is a simple introduction and information page only. The Forum will be were one debate and contribute with ones views on the Station Pages (and the movie).

Janeway - in poor taste?

It is suggested that naming the captain "Janeway" is in poor taste, as there already is a Captain Janeway. Naturally this is commented by those that has not followed the production from the start. The project started with an idea to fast forward and visit one of Janeway's relatives. Voyager had already explored her past, so why not her future? In other words; the person Elisabeth Janeway is the very starting point of the entire movie. Naturally we'll focus on that during our (non profit) marketing!

The next Game & Film Convention will be in Stockholm in November, and naturally Gatekeeper will have a booth. This will be the first time the entire Story Board for the first shooting in Oslo will be presented, and we hope we'll have our movie uniform ready for presentation as well.

Last year we had a cooperation with Section 42, and this year we will most likely cooperate with one of the other organizations (501st Garrison, Stockholm Trekkers, or maybe even Subtopia). We'll have more and exciting news about this during this week!

Teaser of the Teaser!

Here's a teaser pic of the first Gatekeeper teaser clip. The very meeting between the two giants Star Trek and Star Wars. The Borg cube though will be of a new 29th Century design. There is still not any release date on this, as Martin (doing the helmet) has escaped to England. We do hope to be able to finish it within 2009, and show it at the Oslo SciFi Festival and BarbaraCon II in Oslo that year.

Gatekeeper Model Making

4Fathers will produce a large number of models for the Gatekeeper movie, and partner Subtopia are currently looking for a model making facility. Role Players are contacted to join the production with their expertise as far as material, tools, creative solutions, paint and so on. The models will be rather large to hold a bit of texture and create realism, and the actors will be placed in the setting with green screen.

Justin R. Durban as Gatekeeper Composer

Despite playing music all his life, Justin only took two years of piano lessons, and three years of trumpet back in Middle school. Both of which, he grew out of very quickly. Most of his music comes from the ability to hear by ear and he tends to play music that ‘just sounds right’. His music can best be described as "Upliftingly Dark" Cinematic Film Music with hints of Epic Intimacy.

Justin’s first major music achievement was featured on the Warner Brothers film trailer, "Taking Lives", starring Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke. One of his first musical scores was the 35 mm film "Firecracker" (dir. Steve Balderson) , which was accepted into the Raindance Film Festival in London, England October, 2004. “Firecracker” later went on to win numerous awards and was named on Roger Ebert's list of 2005's best films. Since then, Justin has scored hundreds of shorts, several features, and various other multimedia projects. His music has won many awards along with numerous wins in film festivals all over the world.

Justin continues to write music for the boutique trailer music company, X-Ray Dog Music, located in Burbank. By writing orchestral music through X-Ray Dog, his music has been in recent campaigns such as; 20th Century Fox, "Australia", Touchstone Pictures, "Miracle at Saint Anna", Warner Brothers, “Harry Potter – Order of the Phoenix” , and Universal’s “HULK”, “Mummy3”, "The Express" and Sony’s “Stomp The Yard” theatrical and TV trailers. He recently completed the feature film, “Semum” which was later picked up by Warner Brothers Turkey for international distribution.

He also just wrapped the score to the critically acclaimed internet released film, “Star Trek – Of Gods and Men” directed by Tim Russ and the feature, “InAlienable” directed by Robert Dyke starring Walter Koenig, Richard Hatch, and numerous cast members to the Star Trek series old and new. His latest film score is to the feature “The Blackout” directed by Robert Sanders of Starway Pictures. “GPS - The Movie” (dir. Eric Colley) recently won Best Action Film at AOF Festival 2008.

Justin currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife and baby boy further pursuing his filmmaking and film scoring career.

Starfleet Flagship and Private Spitfire Renamed

The Starfleet Flagship and Janeway’s private spitfire will be renamed in honor of two fallen members of the Trekker community.

Young Henrik Lundgren was a member of Section 42, and passed away a few weeks ago - as did Jean Whitehead from Trekkies 2. We’ll rename the two most central ships in the movie USS Lundgren and Whitehead (small fighter).

Superb Weapons Producer

Stengården will produce all our metallic weapons for the movie. Their quality is superb and their prices unbeatable. We will most likely also order a number of Trek weapons for sales.

The sales will however be done for the 4Father group and NOT connected with Gatekeeper. As you may already know 4Fathers will produce a horror fantasy for their next project, before returning to Gatekeeper II. The movie in the middle will be a commercial one and will have Scandinavian fairytales as its base!

Latest Contribution to Threads of Destiny

4Fathers also produce graphics for our partners, and this is the latest character presentation made (today). I guess I need to answer a question when posting this, that I got earlier today:

Question tonight:

* Why is the graphics you create for other productions ten times better than the one you create for your own production?

Hehe You are absolutely right! And there IS a very good explanation for that! ;) When I create graphics for other productions it's the final result of the specific poster or Matte Painting. Gatekeeper though, has not jet produced it's graphics as we're still in our pre-production, so all you get so far are simple sketches and concept arts. :)

As soon as we get a bit closer - and get to photograph all the actors (which lives all over the world), we'll be able to create some spectacular presentations and posters - and I promise you; we'll be second to no one. ;)

This is where breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper is served, where everyone sleeps, where the makeup is applied, the first reading is done, the voice over is done, fighting scenes are practised, and where miniature models are filmed.

___

The Voice-Over Studio where Denise Crosby will bring the Station Computer to life. The Computer will also have a corporeal holographic body, as part of its defences.

___

The Circus School were our circus artists practice their parts, and were the stuntmen and martial arts coordinator put all the fighting scenes together.

The Magic of EMERGENT

Providing all details fall into place, the amazing designers of the Los Angeles firm EMERGENT, run by Tom Wiscombe, will be setting the standard for the future architecture of 2892 - in the movie Gatekeeper. Their approach are quite extraordinary and the results absolutely breathtaking. It’s original, futuristic and exactly what we were looking for when planning our settings.

Here a possible Mars House for the Gatekeeper prelude as well as the official office of UFP on Mars.

The Main Gatekeeper Set

The station promenade will be built in miniature, but will still be 4 x 3 meters. The walls will be removable on strategic places to give room for the camera to do the preplanned shots according to the script! We might add further angles but these will be the central ones. The set will be very detailed and a copy of the Vigeland monolith will be created and placed just in front of the entrance, as the space elevator is built were the monolith is found today!

Emergent Backs Out

Unfortunately the company EMERGENT have decided that there are too much risk involved in a movie project to be able to finalise the deal. This means that the buildings will have to be created from scratch, but that the idea of making the Mars Central buildings more organic in it's construction remains. It's bad news, as we all liked their design, but nothing we can't correct in a few months. We'll be back with new designs for the Mars and Oslo Central shortly! :)
