As you know we'll keep the lid on the actors (and please help us with that if you know who) untill the contracts are signed, but so far we have three actors from Star Trek (TNG, Voyager AND DS9) that are willing to do our movie if the timing is right! :)

Today we contacted a forth celeb actor - this time from Star Wars. We are waiting for an answer! :)

We are also expecting at least two actors from several fanbased Star Trek shows and have allready a deal with Star Wreck and the coming Star Trek: Origins. Star Trek: Odyssey will join us if they like the script, and naturally we'll invite at least two actors from the wonderful Star Trek: New Voyages. We are also expecting two actors from Spain, as well as Barbara Adams and Jean Whitehead from Little Rock - Arkansas, and two secret actors connected to these.

The 501s Garrison will also be joining us, as will Cinema Replicas, and Trekkers from Norway, Sweden and Finland. So far we have heard little from Denmark - as usuall. But we keep hoping! :)

PS! You may debate the article in the Actors thread! :)

We are closing in on our contracts with the real Star Trek actors of Gatekeeper and may be able to present the first one sometime next week. So keep an eye out for the article on the frontside of the Portal Page.

We are reaching for several Star Trek actors and even some from Star Wars. This means that some of you will get to act with these, and the rest of you will get to meet them during shooting - which is open to everyone and often connected with a Convention.

Can you say: WE ARE FAMILY........

4Fathers are looking for five terrorists (No, not real ones). Only one of these are a talking part - but only two lines.

We are also looking for an female actor above the age of 70! (the older the better)

One of our main actor was forced to withdraw because of his work. We have asked another to take over and are waiting for an answer. Should he agree, there will be a new opening on the station offiser team. More about this later! :)

Last week the 4Fathers invited Majel and Rod Roddenberry to do a cameo in the Gatekeeper movie. Today their manager told me that they were both very sorry they didn't have time to do so.

This means that we most likely will invite Robert Picardo (The EMH from Voyager) to Norway in 2011. :)

4Fathers will recast all actors that has not registered on our forum before the 1st of June. So if you are missing anyone - you might want to give them a wink. ;)

For those of you that HAS registered it is VERY important that you give us your mail adress. As you may expect we can not involve people in the production that is totally out of reach. :)

Got a PM were I was asked why we are changing some of our actors, and the reason is that one of the biggest problems within in all Scandinavian Sci-Fi organizations (it might be the same for all other organizations as well for all I know), is that people tend to make promises without really actually following up all the way through.

And so we've been talking to all our actors lately about the importance of being there when we start shooting, and do they really want to do this part. One pulled out because of work, one said he wasn't very inspired but hoped to be in a year or so (that's a NO to us), and there are two more we feel we need an absolute YES from before writing their names in stone. So - two main parts up for grabs as of today and maybe two more later.

At this point in the process this is very unproblematic to us as there are so many that want to have a part in the movie - BUT it's still extra work for us we could be using somewhere else. We thought about finding these actors on the list this week, but we might wait until the Game & Film Convention in "Oslo" and then present the new ones. Here we can also find actors for all other parts in the movie as well.

Thomas

Just after writing this I got one of the YES'es! :) Nice!

Our Orion part (Taren) is most likely filled - by this guy! Given that Tarens sister is Asian, we naturally wanted an Asian guy for the part. The alternative would making her his x-wife, and that wouldn't have worked as well! His name is Anton Sunden and he'll represent Sweden/Finland.

The part of Torok (The Vulcan Hologram) is given to:

Carolina Gómez Lagerlöf

The character is therefore rewritten as a woman (it'll get a new name), but nothing else will change. Carolina is one of the biggest Sci-Fi fan profiles in Sweden.

4Fathers are looking for an actress of at least 70 years of age (older is better) for the small but exciting part as hidden terrorist. One line only ("Death to Starfleet"). Anyone know any amateur theatres in Stockholm, or do you have a grandmother that could do the part?

Thomas
21-07-2008, 14:37
Carolina's character will have the name Sevet!

Kathryn Janeway and Jonathan Archer found!

The actors to do the parts of Kathryn Janeway and Jonathan Archer are now found in Stockholm and Moss (Norway). As you know we are looking for young doubles of all Star Trek Captains and have still Captain Picard and Captain Sisko left.

They will all play younger versions of the originals as people inside the Nexus often change appearance after how they feel inside - age wise. Naturally they do NOT look exactly as the originals, but that is not important. They all have details to remind us of the originals though, and make-up will take them even further.

Astronaut Christer Fuglesang new actor in Gatekeper

The celebrity list for the movie Gatekeeper is growing by the minute. So far we have actors from Star Trek and Star Wars, a BBC actor, a BBC cameraman, a professional stuntman, one of the highest ranking Circus schools, most major fan based actors from all over the world - and now a real astronaut.

Gatekeeper will be the second Star Trek production to host a real astronaut as the first African-American woman in space - Mae C. Jamison, took the role of Lt. Palmer in The Next Generation episode "Second Chances" in 1993.

Even Fuglesang plaid a historic role when he entered space aboard the Discovery the 9th of December 2007 - as the first astronaut to represent Sweden and Norway. He became an honorary member of Trekkers Norway and received a specially designed diploma in Stockholm in 2007. In July 2009 he will do another trip with the Atlantis.

His contract is as with all actors tentative, which means that he can pull out at any time. Naturally he will be monitoring the pre-production and first shots to ensure that the results look good.

Double Trouble

As you all know by now, the old captains will be back in the Gatekeeper movie, and we have decided to show them as younger, as time in the Nexus is relative. We have so far found Kirk, Archer and Janeway - as well as other characters beside the captains.

What's new is that we have decided to skip Captain Sisko. The reason for this is that each and every one of the others have been in contact with the Nexus through their own space funeral or by having entered it before their death. Sisko, however, joined the wormhole aliens, and would most likely still be there.

Finding a double would also have been difficult for Sisko. The percentage of African men in the Scandinavian Sci-Fi groups are poor, and finding one that actually looks like Sisko in addition to this would be close to impossible. We WILL however keep an eye out for him. If we do find a double we might consider using him somehow. But mostly we are currently hunting for a younger version of Picard.

New Actor Invited

4Fathers will not be announcing the names of the actors until we are given an OK. Usually this means we'll have to wait until a year before the actual shot with the actor, but we may have some news ahead of time. For the shot in 2009 we will be using actor Mark Allen Shepherd (Morn from DS9) as you all know, and we have also announced Christer Fuglesang for 2010.

The Actor invited yesterday is one of the main characters of The Next Generation and we are crossing our fingers. Should the actor refuse we'll look further until we have the number of actors decided from the beginning. We are also looking for another Star Wars actor than we originally planned for practically reasons, and will announce this when we get a bit closer to his shot.

Denise Crosby Joins The Cast

Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar from The Next Generation and Bing Crosby's grandchild) joins the cast of Gatekeeper even though she had a one time limit as for fan productions - and as you know she did a cameo for New Voyages (Phase II). The solution was to do a voiceover instead of a cameo, which means she'll be doing the voice of the station computer. The recordings will be done at the Culture Centre Subtopia in Botkyrka - Stockholm, in 2010.

(pic 6) Richard met Gene Roddenberry at the very first Star Trek convention in 1972 and soon impressed him with his memory for Star Trek trivia. He ended up his advisor for 16 years until Roddenberry died in 1991.

He was an extra in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, and has a cameo in the upcoming Star Trek movie. He also created the term PADD for "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (Personal Access Display Device), and wrote the limerick for the episode "The Naked Now" ("There was a young lady from Venus ...")

His visited the Norwegian BarbaraCon Convention in 2006 together with Mark Allen Shepherd and Roger Nygaard (picture from boat trip in the Norwegian fjords) and the 1st Contact Convention in 2007 (together with J. Paul Boehmer), and will be doing a cameo for Gatekeeper in 2009.

___

(pic 5) Hidden Frontier, Odyssey and Phase II actors Brandon McConnell, J.T. Tepnapais and Adam Browne are all invited to join Gatekeeper for a cameo. So far JT has accepted!

___

(pic 4) Star Trek has always been a frontrunner within subjects that are/has been difficult to debate in the US. For some reason the producers still had problems with the issue of Gay rights, and so the fan based productions Hidden Frontier and Odyssey created a counter weigh by presenting a number of gay characters in their show. Naturally this is not really a problem in Scandinavia, but we feel it’s important to make a statement - without involving politics in any way.

In addition to the gay characters of Odyssey - which are invited to join the Gatekeeper production, we also have our own characters. Actors Amir-Alexander Holmeslet Zilali (Left) and Ola Malnes Pettersen (Right) will be doing the parts of Starfleet Academy students Mike Callahan and John Turner.

____

(pic 3) James Cawley will be doing the part of Jedi master in the Gatekeeper movie.

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry has passed away!

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, the wife of “Star Trek” creator Gene Roddenberry, has passed away, Access Hollywood has learned. She was 76.

The actress died of leukemia at 12:27 AM on Thursday in her Bel-Air home with her son, Rod, by her side, a rep for the star confirmed to Access in a statement. She was diagnosed with the disease six months ago.

Majel, whose acting credits included “Bonanza,” “Leave It To Beaver” and “The Lucy Show,” had been a part of “Star Trek” in all of its forms since it first premiered on September 8, 1966.

In addition to playing Number One and Nurse Christine Chapel in the original series, she played Deanna Troi’s mother on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

And Majel also voiced the computer of the various starships used throughout all of the TV shows and movies from the sci-fi franchise — she just completed her voiceover work as the voice of the Enterprise in director J.J. Abrams’ reboot of “Star Trek,” due in theaters on May 8, 2009.

A public memorial is planned for sometime after Christmas or in early 2009. Her family has asked that donations are made to the CARE Organization or Precious Paws in lieu of flowers.
