Defining Slash

What on Earth is SLASH???? Could the 4Fathers say something about this?
I asked another member and he said he though you used your own definition on this!

The member you talked to is right! Slash actually started in the gay community, where the lack of gay characters forced an art form to the surface were one created fan fiction with the Star Trek characters, where one or two of them where gay and romantically involved.

4Fathers have decided to expand this idea somewhat, and ask you to create romantic fan fiction of any orientation. :) Not finding a term to describe this, we want with the old Slash therm.

However! We do not want the stories to become to sexually detailed for two reasons. One is that we want this forum to be opened for kids as well, and the other is that we find this too simple. There will however be a section on the station, closed for kids, where one can take the stories a bit further - but it has to be tasteful.

Noooooooooo! hehe It will never be pornographic in any way. I have read that kind of slash and they are never among the best ones. It's too easy and very cheezy. Romance is far more powerful. But one will be able to take it a BIT further in the adult section, as you can the violent details.

I agree porn is great to watch (If youre at a legal age ofc) but boring to read. Even do star trek it selfs are much more adult its always fun to read stories where the romance part is taken a bit farther than is ok on screen. But I think that we need a 13year old age limit here - minimum, dont you? J. ps I once read a very exciting story about good old Janeway taking a hot sonic shower (alone, sadly). That part would be nice to see on gatekeeper as well.... hirr hirr... ds

I think porno is VERY booring to watch as it is filmed by director wanebees, with horrible lines and even more horrible actors, and far straight to the point for my taste.

I have always found the atmosphere of the "chaise" more exciting! The moment where you wonder; "Does he/she like me and will he/she act on it tonight?". That's what a good slash story is all about! Power of suggestions, Commander!

I hate porn that tryes to be a "real" movie. Its so boooring when the porn actors (that sometimes are bad real actors) talks and chat and while waiting to do theyre real stuff. Good porn always go straight on to the real point without much talking.

With that said sex scenes is fill outs most of the time and if there is more than one or two in a movie it will kill the drama. But the story leading up to the sex and the story after the sex is another thing realy. Thats where the drama is kicking in... J.

That would be a male view on porn. But let's not make this thread a porn debate! I don't want our SLASH section to be connected with porn. It's a romantic section.

My point is: Gatekeeper slash is for all orientations, and can be described as tasteful and romantic stories between Star Trek crew members. :) Now get going writing!

Slash is a genre of story that focuses on the depiction of romantic relationships between characters who are not necessarily engaged in relationships in the canon universe.

I suggest you look up doujinshi on wikipedia. Doujinshi are fanmade comics in Japan, lots of it of the slash type:D

Really. Just look at the types of doujinshi available for sale on ebay:D Lots of fanmade comicbooks, usually with some erotic scenes. Based on the artists taste of course:)
