Here im going to show a few pictures of my own scratch built replicas from diffrent tv series and movies, but mostly startrek.
As you can see in the later posts my skill has grown alot, but the old one's still have a place in my heart.
Ps:the many post is because the stupid picture limit. First up is a few lightsabers that i made when i was around 17-19 years old

In 2004 I got hooked on Star Trek and because i wanted to win the FanArt contest my lokal star trek club has (Westcoast Trekkers Sweden) I started to make startrek Props.
A crappy attemt on making a Phase pistol from Enterprise, I only had one good reference and that was a sideview drawing of it. Which i know now to be incorrect. Made from wood and toy gun.

Never tried making a pirate sword before, but im going to remake a toy compass from Pirates of Caribbean to look more like the screen used one.

Im having the weekend off from work and thought i should finish up some of the props that i have started but not finished. But i just could not get into the mood to do it , So i started yet another prop.
Indiana jones is BIG right now (still have not seen the new movie )
This is something i put together in a few hours today.
It consist of one half sphere (those big toys containers)
One piece of plastic pipe for the handle
Two piece of styrene plastic for the bottom

First i glues it all together with super glue and sanded it, then i added the shape with bondo.

Painted it with primer then matt black

Mixed humbrol gold with gold powder and other colors to get the mix looking right.
I masked with Maskol (latex typ masking )
It not as big as the real thing 11x11x15 cm mine is just 9x9x12cm
Not bad for a few hours work.

Contec: As for the badges we need 8 Gatekeeper ones, and a number of 29th Century ones. But until next summer we only need two Gatekeeper ones. I do believe that there are far too much prop work for you to do alone, so a crash course in molding and such will probably be a good idea. That way we can have several porpmakers - with you in charge.

Cool! Thanks to TV's tips - from time to time - we'll have the REAL computer voice for the Gatekeeper. This sounds great as well. Can't wait to start producing props again. I usually do creature models though!
