We finally got a Shout Box. It is to be used to ask questions about the Forum or the Gatekeeper projects - for either other members or 4Fathers to answer. Don't fill it with social chat as this forum is a tool to guide the 4Fathers in their Gatekeeper production.
To debate the issue - please use Ten Forward for the Movie and The Mess Hall for all the web pages. You may also post questions directly to 4Fathers under the Communicator section. :)
There was a small update of the forums.
The version is now 3.6.9 from 3.6.8
This update included roughly 150 updates and fixed alot of small bugs.
It will probably be the last update before version 3.7.0 which is a major update of the forums. 3.7 includes alot of new feauteres and I am at least waiting in great anticipation for that version of vBulletin. I won't reveal anything right now, but I will post some info when it comes closer to a release.
The Jelsoft team is doing an amazing job on forum software.
This Monday we will launch a new forum structure. :) The forum will expand QUITE A BIT and give room for a number of social threads and activities. Most of these will most likely be moved to the station when that is ready, but until then we'll keep them on the forum. Naturally one can create one's own threads in the social sections.

Because of the new forum structure we need to close the forum down for at least one day -Saturday (and/or Sunday). So don't despair! It will be back again before Monday! ;)
English: Naturally there will be visitors having problems writing in English at the forum, so from this Monday everyone are welcome to write in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish as well, and our house elves will translate it into English and post it underneath your text - in the original mail! But PLEASE! If you feel comfortable writing in English we are very grateful. No one will point out your spelling mistakes! We all got them. Even our English guests! ;P
Norsk: Da enkelte ser det som vanskelig eller rett og slett bare slitsomt å måtte poste på engelsk, tillater vi fra mandag å poste på norsk, svensk og dansk. Våre husalver vil oversette fortløpende og poster oversettelsen under din originaltekst i din egen post.
MEN! Er du komfortabel med å skrive engelsk blir vi veldig glad om du gjør nettopp det. INGEN peker ut dine skrivefeil! De har vi alle (inklusive de engelske gjestene). ;P Om for mange benytter seg av dette vil vi ikke ha kapasitet til å fortsette tjenesten, men vil fortsette å tillate alles originalspråk!

The Gatekeeper Forum has a new Moderator - our well known Supreme Commander!
This means that he will keep an eye on all posts at the forum and point it out if lines are crossed.
His main task is to see to that no one insult each other for any reason what so ever (like race, nationality, social status, politics, gender, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation, age and so on), that the tone between each other is that of respect and diplomacy, that there are no criminal activities, no pictures of sex or violence - OR links to any such pages.
If these rules are broken you will receive a warning from the moderator, and the matter will be debated further by the 4Fathers.
Your post may be deleted (but never without an explanation), and in some cases you may be cut off from the forum for a time period. We also have the means to cut a member out for good without refund of member's fee.
However! Our tolerance is rather high - so don't sweat it! :)

We are about to open a private club section on the forum called SECTION 31. Under this section all members can open their own private clubs with invited guests only. No one else can read the thread. So far you do this by sending a PM to Martin or Thomas.
The first club to open is the Pink Badge; An international Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual Trekkers group. This club will also meet each other IRL in Moss, with a program of episodes and films from Star Trek (or with Star Trek actors) related to the group theme. There will be food and lottery, and with times visits from Star Trek actors/celebs.
There are two types of meetings; Open Meetings (with friends or/and family), and Closed Meetings (for anyone not open about their orientation). There will also be an extensive web page in not too long, with a large celeb gallery.

Just thought I would give a heads up on what is happening.
This weekend coming, the forums will be moved to a new server. The move is set to happen from the 10th to the 11th. The forums will not be accesiable at this time.

Now and then people forget their password, which is quite normal. If you do, all you have to remember is push the log in button WITHOUT filling in your log in info. Then you are sent to a page were you are asked if you have forgotten your password. But you need to remember what e-mail you have registered. You fill this in and you get your password by mail! :)
Your profile now contains a lot more "social" features.
If you go to your profile(Click on your user name at the top right of this page) you will see that you can do a lot more with your profile.
Public Messaging
Everyone has got their own little board on their profile which anyone can post to.
You can view your own or anyone else by going to the persons profile.
If you want to see your own just click on your user name and your profile page will show up.
If you want to see someone else, just click on their user name and you can leave them a message.
User Albums
You can now have your own album and upload up to 60 images.
To access your Gallery go to your user control panel(UserCP, up in the left corner) look down the left list until you see "Pictures & Albums" click this, you will now see your gallery. To create a new album just hit "Add Album", type up a Title(The name of it) for instance "My Cats" and give it a helpful description. You can then select to either make it private(only your friends and moderators may view them) or public.
Friends
As with other social sites, you can now build a little network of friends. You can request to be someones buddy and you will get requests for buddies. These will then be shown on your profile.
You can also see who has recently visited your profile(good if your being stalked :D)
In line editing
You can edit your profile fields directly on your profile. Just go to the "About me" tab in your profile and hit edit value.
Picture Viewer
When you click a picture it will show it you on a nice new overlay instead of taking you to a new page. However this will only work on pictures that are uploaded after the upgrade.
There more features, however some of these are currently turned off as I'm still looking at how they work and how we can apply them here.
But enjoy this so far.
We've had a bit of a summer holiday the past week, but from Monday we'll be back with much more activities on the forum. The news page will rest for a while though, because of our work with the station, and Martin moving to England. So all news will be posted on the forum - with pictures.
We do get a lot of questions about the forum - and "will we redesign it". Probably! But it's not very high on the priority list given all the work we have left with the station and movie. :) The design was original going to look like this (se picture) but we'll see what we end up with. :)
